Mindfulness
“Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally.” Jon Kabat-Zinn
Mindfulness is an ancient practice that finds its roots in the Buddhist tradition. In recent years Mindfulness has been taken on by the west, which is great because Mindfulness practices are incredibly powerful for our mind, body and spirit.
The only downside to this westernisation is that we can miss out on the true depths that are held within the practice of mindfulness. In this section there will be guided mindfulness practices for you to do and contemplations of the ancient Buddhist wisdom connected to Mindfulness.
Guided Practices
This beautiful guided meditation practice to ground your energy and connect with the strong and stable energy of the mountain. The Mountain Meditation is a meditation practice that needs to be completed in a seated position. So get yourself in a comfortable position and surrender into this nourishing practice.
Length: 14 minutes 58 seconds
In this practice you will be guided to hold yourself in the energy of loving kindness, before sending the energy of loving kindness out to others. It is a powerful reminder that you need to send love and kindness to yourself before you are able to give it freely to others. A great practice for when you are feeling disconnection in life.
Length: 11 minutes 13 seconds
For this practice you will need a candle that you can place just below your eye line. My preference for this practice is a tea light candle as the flame doesn’t get obstructed, but any candle will work. This practice is powerful for enhancing your visualisation and focusing your awareness on a single point.
